Post #1: Filmmakers Statement

 On the production side, my only film experiences are with home videos and make-shift narrative films with family and friends, starting from when I was about nine years old. The most advanced cameras I had available to me were a Flip camera and later an iPod Touch (now, an iPhone). I tried out simple special effects using things like cuts and perspective, editing on Windows MovieMaker and iMovie. Through this course, I hope to become well rounded in the basics of production and become confident in using more advanced tools and functioning within a more organized, professional environment. I'm especially interested in narrative film, but am also eager to learn from creating documentary and experimental films. I want to become comfortable with the tools available to me, so that I don’t just imagine shots, but know what to do to accomplish them.
